Sylvia L. Tint - Partner
Called to the Ontario Bar, 1993.
Sylvia has an extensive employment law practice. She advises clients with respect to interpretation and drafting of employment contracts (and independent contractor agreements), employment policy manuals and handbooks, discipline in the workplace, severance packages, just cause dismissal, planning and implementation of reorganizations, and employment issues in the purchase and sale of businesses.
Sylvia also advises clients with respect to workplace relations: respecting human rights, sexual harassment and bullying in the workplace, return to work strategies for employees on disability leave, accommodation of human rights, and workplace and commercial privacy issues.
Since her call to the bar, Sylvia has also gained extensive experience representing clients in all levels of Ontario courts, (as well as the Tax Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada) in commercial litigation and employment disputes, and in administrative proceedings and tribunals in respect of employment standards and human rights.
Sylvia also represents clients in family matters, in the negotiation and preparation of separation agreements and in the litigation of custody, access, and property issues and divorce.
Sylvia is a frequent speaker and writer on many legal topics including: employment, privacy and general litigation. She is also an educator, having taught family law classes at Ryerson Polytechnic Institute, and spoken on employment relations to students at York University, and on employment law matters at lawyer?s education conferences and seminars.
